THE LORD WAS SORRY.

Text: 1 Sam 15:20-21
20.  But I did obey the Lord,” Saul said. “I went on the mission the Lord assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back Agag their king.
21. The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of what was devoted to God, in order to sacrifice them to the Lord your God at Gilgal.”

   But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

Message:
  Saul was the first King in land of Isreal which God gave to his people when they demanded for king,but after some times Saul was asked to destroy God's enemy but he failed in doing this,I looked at it closely and I discovered some things that caused his disobedience;
1. Saul was a man of the people.
2. He cared so much about people around him more than himself
3. He doesn't want to lose the support of people following him.
4. He felt giving people freedom to do what they want will make them love,respect and Honor him.
5. He's more concern about people's feelings and thoughts of him than God thoughts.
   Every great leader must not be ruled by this characters, you may be a great leader before the people and  God may not see you,because you can't satisfy people without offending God. What to understand as a leader;
1. You are called by God not by men so don't live or work or organise programs to please people.
2. Don't be conscious of people but of God lest you make mistake and offend Him.
3. Obedience is a must without asking questions or reservation.
4. Don't be carried away by people's reaction to issues but God's mind, followers can make leaders fail by their actions.

  God was sorried and regretted he made saul king vs 35. What is the mind of God over your calling? Happy or sorry?.you can still amend your ways now.

   Oh Lord forgive me all my disobedience and give me the spirit of Obedience to serve you in Jesus name.
