OVERCOMING THE OLD MAN PT. 2

Memory verse:Rom 6:6
  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Text:Rom.6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Message:
The flesh is being referred to as the old man or the sinful nature, because  its a sinful nature indeed, it makes you do what don't want to do.
Many people thought fasting and prayer is a way to overcome the old man, it will help but its not the complete means; God has made the provision already through Jesus that's why he died on the cross,so handing over your life to Jesus is what gives you the victory over the old man and your being conscience of whom you are in christ.
  Jesus completed the work of our salvation on the cross and gave the new spirit (The Holy Spirit ) so that we can be delivered from this nature as in Romans 8:11(And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you)
  Until we receive the Spirit we can't live or be alive in the Spirit.

Note:
If you have not given your life to Jesus or you did it religiously you don't have this victory until you are genuinely born again.

Prayer:
Lord help me to walk in the victory you have given me over sin in Jesus name.
