WHO IS A CHRISTIAN PT.1

   Topic: WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

  INTRODUCTION :
   The word christian has been wrongly used over the years and we agree with wrong perspective of people about it; Christian is a of person practicing religion, because Christianity is not a religion. The name Christians is a trait or a lifestyle.

Teaching :
        I will like to start with a story of a very rich man who has many workers under him and he's kind and caring he will not allow anyone around him to suffer for anything if he can provide it,this man has many company and one of it is Motel where prostitutes and their customers goes to enjoy themselves; one day pastor approached him and preached the gospel to him, but the rich man responded and said with all you have said about this man Jesus Christ there is no one around me like him:because my manager in one of my Motel is a born again christian as he used to tell people but I know that the car he just bought was not from his salary because he lives in big apartment so he can't live in place and afford such car. also Mr.John my best friend has been going to church over a decade and very spiritual but he has a girl friend which I know very well, I don't know if they do have sex or not but most times when John travels they go together even for retreat because they attend the same church.
    The rich face the pastor after he said all these things and said since my manager and Mr. John are christians then why should I become like them? Because am already better than they do.

   I belive you enjoyed the short story?  Bible tells us that be livers were  first called Christian in antioch because (unbelivers)they observed their ways of life both in secret and open so they saw that they were like Jesus Christ.
That's is why I said the name christian is a trait of character.
   
      Worthy of the name:christian
Many church goers are not worthy of the name Christian and many ministers: Pastor's, Elders, Deacons, evangelist and Bishop are not worthy, one sunday morning I was going to church and A jeep drove around Adigbe in Abeokuta Ogunstate like the Fayawo people (people bringing tokunbo car from other country through illegal means) and people were so afraid the road scared only to know that the man of God is late for the church so he wanted to beat the time by wreckless driving; so my people who can bear the name christian? 

  Just imagine your secret life is brought to light , all your chats,call on phone and places you go will people still call you a Christian after seeing all these.

    HOW CAN WE KNOW A CHRISTIAN?
1. Does speaking in tongues makes you a Christian?
2. Does the knowledge of the scriptures you have makes you a Christian?
3. Does dressing makes you a Christian?
4. Many sister are prostitutes the way they dress but they led praise worship in some of our churches, who is then a Christian?  How can we know who a Christian is?
