Assurance of salvation PT. 1

Bread of life
Sunday 25th March 2018.

Topic: ASSURANCE OF SALVATION  PT. 1

Text: Hebrew 6:1
So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

Memorize: Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Many people who get converted to Christianity usually have doubts about their salvation. Many feel saved today and unsaved tomorrow, this manifest in their continuing answer altar calls and harbor a sense of guilt. There is nothing a man received from God by faith that the devil will not contest. He will usually seek to cast doubt on the work God has wrought in a heart. Therefore, there is need for you to be assured of your salvation.

Have you repented?  What did you repent from?

Many people associate repentance primarily with emotions- sheadding tears, remorse anguish etc. Other associate repentance with carring out special religious rites and ordinances.
It is therefore important for us to clearly understand the scriptural meaning of the word.

Repentance is a change of heart and involves a turning. A turning away from darkness and satan to light and JESUS.
Dead works (these include religious rituals and other activities, like giving, PREACHING, etc. done by unconverted men) is part of darkness;meaning we have ministers of the Gospel who are not saved because they have not repented.

Note:
When repentance is complete and genuine there will always be fruits of repentance.

Prayer:
1.  Oh Lord give me a repentable heart.
2.  Open my heart to be able to have complete repentance in Jesus name.
