Wednesday 23rd May 2018.

Topic: The Christian response to love. Pt.1

Text:  Romans 12:9
Don't just pretend that you love others: really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good.

Memorize: Romans 12:10
Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each other.

Message: Bro Peter Joshua
Love by itself is authentic! It cannot be faked. So when you pretend to "love someone, it's laughable because what you have for that person isn't love.
In fact, you cannot even "try" to love anyone. It's either you love a person or you don't and you have to be sincere about that!
Love is not a feeling! It's a decision you make to accept someone the way they are, not just to tolerate them.

You see, just as you weren't perfect before God acted out his love towards you, the same way, people don't have to be perfect before you love them. Love gives room for improvement and holds no record of wrong.

Can you see now that "LOVE" is a big deal? And that it takes God's help for you to express love?
If so, why "pretend" to love when you can be helped to love really? If you stick to pretending, it shows you never intended to show love and that's what the verse is addressing!

Verse 10 goes further to say "Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each

*You'll readily agree with me that love is borne by the Spirit! You can't love as God would want you to love outside the assistance of the Holy Spirit. Love is the fruit of the Spirit!*

Note:
Sexual feelings is not the sign that you love someone.

Prayer:
Father help me to love in deep and live to fulfil your mind in jesus name.
